iTunes and PodCasting

OK, iTunes 4.9 is out and it supposedly supports Podcasts. Now Podcasts were named because the iPod was the place to listen to them and if youve got an iPod youve got iTunes. Therefore its logical that iTunes should support Poscasts. Right? The sloppy 4.9 release of iTunes really demonstrates just how Microsoft-like Apple are becomming. They are moving to intel. They release iTunes for the PC. They stuff up the software and at the end of the day we lose. 4.9 does not (as far as I can see) support OPML thus if you want to move off your old podcast manager you have to enter each cast one by one. Secondly, it is really hard to tell what the hell is going on it there is an error. Thirdly the options for retrieval are very limited and apply to all podcasts (there is no individual customisation available). Fourthly and this is quite possibly the most telling attribute of 4.9, the freakin date sort heading doesnt sort by date. You can click it, the sort arrow changes but nothing else happens!!! It sorts within a podcast but doesnt sort at the top level. Man, even I wouldnt code anything this crap. I guess you get what you pay for.

This orienteer is in my club! She is the wife of the map geek who also happens to be a trainspotter... He recently went to Kazacstan and (instead of commenting on the wonderful scenery and culture) he commented on the different rail guage that they used.Missing orienteer found on NSW property

Prankster tampers with traffic lights

This guy rox...
A tech-savvy prankster has been tampering with traffic lights in this Silicon Valley town, turning them off and rejigging wires so the lights flash red in all directions.
The prankster also has surreptitiously turned traffic lights to face the wrong way, mixed up the audible crosswalk signals that help guide the blind and thrown off the timing of lights to delay drivers.
City officials have launched a publicity campaign in hopes of thwarting the unknown crafty engineer, who has evaded the law for months.
The trickster has been performing antics for three months and has used a key to open control boxes and reprogram the lights. Most audaciously, he or she recently used a cherry-picker truck to turn an overhead signal across a busy intersection - but no residents or city officials reported any unusual activity.
No one has been hurt because of the pranks. Nonetheless, after ruling out insiders who work for the traffic division, Sunnyvale officials are asking residents to put down their mobile phones and handheld computers and look for anyone tinkering with lights.

Only a suspect??!! Gregory Despres is shown in this image from television. On April 25, 2005, Despres arrived at the U.S.-Canadian border crossing at Calais, Maine, carrying chain saw stained with what appeared to be blood, a homemade sword, a hatchet, a knife, and brass knuckles. U.S. customs agents confiscated the weapons, fingerprinted Despres, and then let him into the United States. Despres, the suspect in a grisly double murder in New Brunswick, Canada, was arrested in Mattapoisett, Mass., on April 27, 2005 and is being held in a jail there, charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
